Artic Circle Dive Centre Terms and Conditions

Booking Ice Diving  terms and conditions.

To reserve space at the Arctic Circle PADI Dive Centre a deposit of GBP 200 per person is required, can be made by credit - debit card, GBP cheque.  Final payment is due no later than 6 weeks prior to departure. Arctic Circle reserves the right to cancel a reservation if full payment has not been received by this date.

No refund will be made for cancellations that occur less than 21 days prior to departure. Any airline tickets issued are subject to the carrier's refund policy. Trip cancellation insurance is strongly recommended and advised.
Notification of the cancellation must be received in writing by Arctic Circle Dive Centre. At the time we receive your written cancellation the fallowing penalties will apply: Up to Up and including 60 days prior to the trip: GBP 200 of non-refundable deposit.
From 59 days up to and including 21 days prior to the trip: 40% of the total price
From 21 days prior to the trip: 100% of the total price

Leaving the Arctic Circle Dive Centre programme in progress, for any reason whatsoever, will not result in a refund, and no refunds will be made for any unused portions of a programme. We will not be responsible for any refund for nonrefundable airline tickets, or for any airline tickets purchased by the passenger directly from an airline or travel agent.

All prices are based on two persons sharing a room, meals full board include mineral water and soft drinks. Alcoholic beverages are charged separately. All prices and fares are quoted in Pounds Sterlings. The rates are based on current tariffs and are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. While we will do everything possible to maintain the listed prices, if it is necessary to levy a surcharge we reserve the right to do so and notification will be given at the time of final invoicing.

The Arctic Circle PADI Dive Centre shall not be held liable for any damage to, or loss of, property or injury to, or death of, persons occasioned directly or indirectly by an act or omission of any other provider, including but not limited to any defect in any aircraft, watercraft, or vehicle operated or provided by such other provider, and any loss or damage due to delay, cancellation, or disruption in any manner caused by the laws, regulations, acts or failures to act, demands, orders, or interpositions of any government or any subdivision or agent, thereof, or by acts of God, strikes, fire, flood, war, rebellion, terrorism, insurrection, sickness, quarantine, epidemics, theft, or any other cause(s) beyond their control. The participant waives any claim against the Arctic Circle PADI Dive Centre for any such loss, damage, injury, or death.
By registering for the Arctic Circle Dive Programmes, the participant certifies that he/she does not have any mental, physical, or other condition or disability that would create a hazard for him/her or other participants.
The Arctic Circle Dive Centre reserves the right in their sole discretion to accept, decline to accept, or remove any participant from The Arctic Circle PADI Dive Centre.

In case of medical problem arising during the programme, which results in costs for evacuation, use of aircraft or repatriation, the responsibility for payment of these costs belongs solely to the tourist. Arctic Circle strongly urge individuals obtain appropriate insurance.

The programmes presented are subject to modification and change by the Arctic Circle PADI Dive Centre. Every reasonable effort will be made to operate programmes as planned, but alterations may still occur.

Arctic Circle Diving Centre Requirements:

All dives are carried out in-line with the International Federation PADI standards

These standards consist of:
The necessity to fallow the partnership system which is underlie of the safety technique of the amateur diving. During the diving ( under the water and on the top of water) the divers has to have such distance between themselves, that in case of necessity they could help to each other;

The necessity to fallow the diving rules, which the representative of the Dive Centre impart during the briefings.

Prohibition of diving under the drugs and alcoholic intoxication, or under the remains of drugs or alcohol intoxication.

The Diver must to realize that in case of rules violation or non-fulfillment of safety technique standards, the representative of the Dive Centre can debar the diver from the dive or the whole program of diving.

Requirements for the diving programme participants:
Diving program participants must:
* hold an Ice Diver Certificate from one of the international underwater federation or have made 5 registered under-ice dives.
It will be necessary to demonstrate the following abilities to the Arctic Circle Dive Centre instructors in the course of the check dive:
* capability in the primary skills required by under ice diving:
* cleaning the mask out of water: changing the main regulator to the reserve one and vice versa:
* tapping into the buddy reserve regulator :
conducting an emergency rising to the surface breathing by means of the buddy reserve regulator :
* using the safety rope :
* controlling one's flotage :
* communicating with the buddy and with the tender :
* overturning upside down under ice and getting back to the standard position.

Divers without the necessary experience can undertake an Ice Diver Course at the Arctic Circle Dive Centre .
These courses consist of 1 2 lectures and three training dives with an instructor. At the end of the course, you will be required to pass an exam and complete the necessary paperwork to obtain the Ice Diver Certificate. The course fee includes use of all the necessary equipment.

Dives are open to participants of all ages (subject to meeting the requirements outlined above), although a parent or guardian must accompany those under 18 years of age for the entire journey.

Requirements for an applicant to Ice Diver PADI Course

Minimum age: 18 years

Minimum certification level: Advanced OWD PADI or equivalent.

Dry Suite Diver PADI or equivalent, or confirmed experience of dry suit dives (minimum 4 dives).

Dry suit diving experience: minimum 4 logged dives.

Otherwise, there are no age restrictions, but all participants must be in good health.

Health Requirements:
You must be in good physical and mental health. Any physical condition requiring special attention, diet, or treatment must be reported in writing when the reservation is made. Arctic Circle PADI Dive Centre reserves the right to decline to accept any person as a member of a programme due to the health concerns .

We reserve the right to take photographs or videos during the operation of any expedition or part thereof, and to use the resulting photography for promotional purposes. By booking a reservation with Arctic Circle PADI Dive Centre, participants agree to allow their images to be used in such photography; participants who prefer that their image not be used are asked to identify themselves to their leader at the commencement of their trip.

On advancement of deposit to Arctic Circle Dive Centre the depositor acknowledges that he/she has read and understands the above recited terms and conditions and agrees to be bound of them.
